Oliver O. Mbamara started his legal career in Nigeria after he graduated from the University of Lagos with LL.B (Hons). He went on to attend the Nigerian law School and was admitted to the Nigerian Bar as a Barrister & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in 1990. He practiced as a Barrister & Solicitor in Nigeria for several years before moving to the United States where he was also admitted to practice law after passing the New York State Bar examination. He subsequently became an Admin. Judge for the State of New York and has continued to serve in that position for over 17 years.
Hon. Mbamara has been a long-standing member of the Nigerian Lawyers Association (USA) and has served in various capacities for the association up to the level of the chairman of the board of directors. With his experience and background in law, he has continued to serve the Nigerian and African communities and has been honored and recognized severally for his dedication, commitment, and service. A few of the latest of such honors include the Oliver O. Mbamara has been recognized for his achievements in various works of life including: The 2017 Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by the Board of MARQUIS WHO’S WHO.” The 2015 LANFA Legendary Movie Achievement Award USA., the Centenary Achievement Award from the Nigeria Centenary Organization USA (NCUSA) in 2014, and the Certificate of Appreciation from the Nigerian Lawyers Association in 2012.
