DAYS OF OUR ANCESTORS – A Moonlight Tale is an epic story of love, honor, betrayal, and redemption, set against the nostalgic background of a precolonial Ibo (African) tribal community highlighting how our predecessors lived, guided by prudent cultures and traditions that sustained an egaliterian society in the face of inevitable individual and communal conflicts. The story highlights how decisions and lifestyles were impacted by social norms and traditions in early African societies and parallels the modern world in which internet and social media uses have become major means of assessing social values and the priorities of life and living.The society we live in is a product of the morality we share, the laws we legislate, and the justice system we run. They become the society’s character and its identity. This cultural traditional system worked even though there was no police force, no standing military, and no prison systems. A society where honor and clear conscience was valuable than material conveniences. Those who erred, accepted the natural consequences or accounted for it to an impartial oversight system aided by occasional masquerade enforcements, and believe in the just and impartial hands of the supernatural (fate).Days of Our Ancestors shares how our ancestors effectively practiced the unique original legislative and judicial systems in which no individual was above the law and none was allowed to dictate over others – the world’s earliest form of non-heirachical governance of the people, by the people, and for the people. A structure devoid of partisan politics, tribalism, and nepotism.
